Fido / Options [3]

File Areas, more often referred to as File Echos, are
used to automatically distribute files around the
network, just as Echomail Areas are used to
distribute echomail around the network. More often
than not, files distributed via File Echos are
accompanied by .TIC files, which contain a brief
summary of the file they accompany. A typical use of
a File Echo would be to distribute the weekly
nodediff, the weekly nodelist, the weekly issue of
 FidoNews, etc.

[x] OpenXP will process .TIC files and post a
"message" in a file area specifically created
for each File Echo. Once processed, the .TIC
      files are deleted.

These file areas can be found in amongst your
      message areas.

      Examples: /FIDO/FILES/FIDONEWS
                /FIDO/FILES/NODEDIFZ
                /FIDO/FILES/ECHOLIST

Pressing <Enter> on any of the file areas will
bring up a "message" list and pressing <Enter>
on any of the "messages" will display the
contents of the associated packed file in the
      archive viewer.

[ ] .TIC files will neither be processed nor
      deleted.
